What song from high school do you most want to hear at the reunion?:

From Germaine:

After graduating from JMU with a degree in Political Science/Criminal Justice, I became a special agent with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms in Richmond, where I worked on investigations involving convicted felons with firearms, arsons, and bombings, to name a few.

I became engaged to a fellow ATF agent who was assigned to the Falls Church office.  I switched agencies and moved back up to Northern Virginia to get married.  My husband (Tom) and I were married in 1987.

For the next few years I did internal affairs-type work with the IRS.  I'm in my 24th year as a federal agent.  In 1998 I was recruited to take a position with the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) - still within the Treasury Department.  I've been with them ever since.   For those of you who aren't familiar with FinCEN (and that's most people!), we collect financial intelligence from the financial sector and make it available to law enforcement for use in their money laundering/terrorist financing investigations.  My current job (and final job!) is as FinCEN's agency representative to the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Brunswick, GA.  I've been at FLETC since August 2005.  FLETC is the largest law enforcement training facility in the country.  Every federal agent (except FBI and DEA) goes through basic investigator training here.  I'm in a liaison position (working closely with representatives from 80+ other federal law enforcement agencies), and I teach new agents about the financial intelligence I mentioned (what it is and how to use it in their investigations).

Tom and I live on St. Simons Island - which is a "grueling" 15-minute commute from FLETC that includes a 4-mile causeway overlooking breathtaking marshes.  If you've never been to this area (we're on the Georgia coast between Jacksonville and Savannah), you should check it out.  It's absolutely gorgeous.  Just ask Tizzy!  She's planning her 3rd trip down here!  Anyway, I will be retiring on April 1, 2010 and am looking forward to truly soaking in all this area has to offer.  We're only 15 minutes off of Interstate 95, so give a holler (how's that for a southern term), if you're ever in the neighborhood!!

From Monit:
I went to VA Tech and graduated in Horticulture which is still my greatest passion.  I guess it all started with the Unbeaten Path and the Plant Club. I continued playing Frisbee and competed in individual events and then Ultimate for many years.  I met my husband (throwing a disc) and we have been together ever since we competed at the Metro Conference Championships in 1980.  He taught Industrial Arts at a local high school for many years but transitioned to IT twelve years ago.  He is now a Team Lead for Carmax.com and an avid cyclist.   I have been a residential landscape designer for almost twenty years now and started my business eight years ago.  Check out my website!  It is a joy to design with nature and make people happy by creating gardens for them while working with fabulous crews. We have been in Richmond, VA since we left VA Tech and now enjoy living in the Museum District surrounded by the architecture of the early 1900's.  I love walking in the historic neighborhoods and still practice Yoga. We are happy and healthy and just celebrated our 23rd wedding anniversay!

From Karen:

My, my how time flies when you’re having fun.  It’s hard to believe 30 years is already here!  Everyone looks great!  It’s wonderful to hear that everyone it doing well.  Cheers to all of you who are living out your dreams and reaching beyond your limit, that’s what keeps us young!

Sorry, I won’t be able to make this grand event.  I will be on work related travel to a resort in Orlando.  Some of us have to work!   When I return I’ll be an empty nester for the first time.  Can I deal with it???  Hummmmm, somehow I think so.   My lovely daughter, Hilary heads off to Spain for a one month archeology dig.  Her dreams are to live in Europe.   Mine are to help her dreams come true and then live mine out to their fullest.

My best to all have a blast and keep filling up this website with updates!  Thanks ladies for making this possible!

Enjoy,

Karen

From Robert:
Wow, 30 years.  Less hair, few more pounds but happier than ever.  The woman that I've shared most of my life with still stands by my side.  Debbie and I have been together for 31 years, 28 of those married.  We have two healthy boys, (men) Brock 24 and Brandon 22.  Brock is a graduate from Christopher Newport and is presently going through the process of being a police officer and Brandon will be finishing up at VCU with his art portfolio.  Unfortunately,  my friends, Debbie and I will not be able to attend the 30th reunion.  We will be celebrating life by traveling out west on our Harley.  Kids are gone and we're young once more.  About the time your celebrating we'll be somewhere such as Sturgis.  Would love to hear from some of you.  Feel free in dropping a dime.  Your friend and classmate,  Robert
